YOUmediaTeens/YA (13-24), join the Teen/YA Advisory Board! Plan events, suggest books, improve library spaces, and earn service hours. Saturdays, 3–4 PM @ YOUmedia Downtown. Snacks provided!
Are you a teen or young adult looking to make an impact in your community? Join the Teen/YA Advisory Board at Hartford Public Library! We meet monthly on Saturdays to plan fun and exciting events, share ideas for new books, and help create an even better space for teens and young adults at the library. Plus, you can earn community service hours for your participation and we provide snacks!
What you’ll do:
- Plan awesome events and programs for teens and young adults
- Recommend cool new books, movies, music, and more for the library collection
- Help make the library more inviting for teens and young adults
- Share your voice and ideas to shape the future of the library!
Who can join:
- Teens and young adults ages 13-24
- Must live, work, or study in the Greater Hartford area
When:
Meetings are held once a month on Saturdays from 3-4 PM. Check the library calendar here for the current month to learn about future meetings.
Where:
YOUmedia (2nd Floor) at the Downtown Library, 500 Main St, Hartford, CT 06103.

Hartford Public Library’s history spans more than 235 years. We can trace its very beginnings to the Library Company, formally organized in 1774 by a few subscribers to purchase a "collection of useful and religious books". And now, the library is a national leader in redefining the urban public library in the 21st century as an innovative and stimulating place where people can learn and discover, explore their passions, and find a rich array of resources that contribute to a full life.
