Create a picnic tote bag!
Join us at Ropkins Library for a special Big Read discussion of Bite by Bite: Nourishments and Jamborees by Aimee Nezhukumatathil.
In this engaging and reflective workshop, participants will explore the powerful connections between food, nature, and memory through conversation and creative expression. After the discussion, participants will decorate a picnic tote bag inspired by the stories and personal reflections that emerge from the book.
Celebrate how food and nature shape our memories and bring communities together in this thoughtful and creative gathering.
Participants Will Receive:
• A free copy of Bite by Bite
• Information about Connecticut State Parks for future picnics and outdoor exploration
• A picnic cookbook with easy recipes for outdoor meals

About Ropkins Library...
In May 1995, the Ropkins Branch and the S.A.N.D. Everywhere School library merged. A new 5,600 square foot state-of-the-art facility opened in December 1998. In March 2023, the Ropkins Branch reopened following a renovation. It now houses the Hartford History Center Annex.
The renovated branch is open to the community.
Ropkins is open Monday-Thursday from 10am-5pm.
