About this workshop
This intensive single-session workshop is designed for food service workers who cannot commit to a multi-week schedule. In 4.5 hours, you will cover the same core food safety content as the full course and sit for the ServSafe Food Handler exam the same day.
What you will learn
- Food safety principles and best practices
- Contamination prevention and foodborne illness
- Safe food handling, storage, and temperature control
- Personal hygiene standards for food service workers
What you will earn
- Participants who complete the workshop are prepared to sit for the ServSafe Food Handler exam — the same credential as the multi-session course.
- Continue your credential journey
- Workshop graduates are encouraged to continue directly into the ServSafe Food Manager course beginning later that week.
Session format
- Monday, 9:30 AM - 5:00 PM, Hartford Public Library Central Branch (500 Main Street).
This program is free and open to:
- Hartford residents
- Those working in Hartford
- Anyone opening a Hartford food service-related business
- Participants must be authorized to work in the United States
