"Women Unbound: The Art of Revolution" is a compelling art showcase that brings together Hartford Public Library, Vinfen, and Art Connection Studio to celebrate the vital role of women in revolution and social change. Featuring works from a diverse group of artists, this exhibition explores themes of freedom, empowerment, and leadership through a variety of artistic mediums, including painting, sculpture, and mixed media.
The showcase highlights the creative voices of women who have broken barriers and led movements for justice, equality, and liberation. By engaging with these works, audiences are invited to reflect on the transformative power of art as a means of expressing dissent, fostering dialogue, and inspiring revolutionary change. Hartford Public Library’s history spans more than 235 years. We can trace its very beginnings to the Library Company, formally organized in 1774 by a few subscribers to purchase a "collection of useful and religious books".
