Today's performance will be the Marques & Therrien Duo featuring: Rachel Therrien, trumpet and Albert Marques, piano.
Rachel Therrien is a trumpet player from Montreal and Albert Marquès is a pianist from Barcelona. Both musicians are Brooklyn-based artists who tour all over the world with their projects. After more than 10 years of friendship and playing in different contexts, Therrien and Marquès are finally creating their first project together. They will release an album in 2024 which is the fruit of a deep collaboration and friendship between two composers and band leaders who play Latin Jazz, Flamenco, Rock, Contemporary Jazz... and who love to improvise
together.
All performances will take place in the Center for Contemporary Culture (CCC), at the downtown library, 500 Main Street. Please enter through the Egg Lobby on Arch Street.
All concerts are from 3- 4 pm, doors open at 2:00. The concerts will also be streamed on Youtube and Facebook.

Hartford Public Library’s history spans more than 235 years. We can trace its very beginnings to the Library Company, formally organized in 1774 by a few subscribers to purchase a "collection of useful and religious books". And now, the library is a national leader in redefining the urban public library in the 21st century as an innovative and stimulating place where people can learn and discover, explore their passions, and find a rich array of resources that contribute to a full life.
