The Hartford Book Festival mission is to build community using literary art, serving all people of the Greater Hartford Area.
Families and book lovers can expect a festival packed with Local and special authors, artists, book stores, workshops, panels, Live Stage performances, Youth activities, Open Mic, Literary Highlights, Publishers, a multicultural celebration of literature and so much more. Attendees will also have exclusive access to pre-order or purchase limited copies of the Hartford’s L.I.T. 's second writing prompt and journal titled; Writing Literary Badassery; Writing Prompts & Journal.
Day One: Writer’s Workshops Only
Friday September 22nd 11:00am-2:30pm virtual live workshops
Day Two: The 5th Annual Hartford Book Festival (various vendors, free workshops, puppet show, rock climbing, open mic, book stores)
Time: Saturday September 23rd, 10:00am – 5:00pm
Place: Classical Magnet School, 85 Woodland Street, Hartford, Connecticut

Day Three: An Evening of Poetical Musings
Overview: Open Mic, Poetic Activities, Homage to Great Poets Dramatic Reading, Love Jones Poetry, Special guest poets of New England.

Hartford Public Library’s history spans more than 235 years. We can trace its very beginnings to the Library Company, formally organized in 1774 by a few subscribers to purchase a "collection of useful and religious books". And now, the library is a national leader in redefining the urban public library in the 21st century as an innovative and stimulating place where people can learn and discover, explore their passions, and find a rich array of resources that contribute to a full life.
