Youth will enjoy story time, "Nana Akua Goes to School" by Tricia Elam Walker, making bookmarks and "quilts".
Free copies of the book will be given to families. There will be 2 crafts: Bookmark - kids can draw symbols to use associated with the book. “Quilt” making craft; with sheets of paper kids can glue together and create their own Adinkra symbols to create a "quilt". Information on the symbols and what they mean will be shared.

The Barbour Branch library is located in the Northeast section of the City of Hartford in Unity Plaza. The branch opened in October 1927 at 572 Windsor Street and since 2014, the Barbour Branch is currently located at 261 Barbour Street.
